Our recommendations:
For sulawesi snails, they are known climbers so they will need to stay in an aquarium with lid cover. You will mostly see they will hang out at the top glass off the tank and free fall down to the substrate. So try not to put anything like pebbles, rock or similar along the edges of the tank. In case the snails dropped and they don't get much damage to their shells.
The snails do well in a sizeable colony of between 20-30 snail. They are very shy snail and only come out of hiding once they fully acclimated. These snail can do well in tropical fish tank conditions, especially in water parameters similar to cichlid, with temperate of 28 to 30 degree. They don't require any specific needs but to keep the water clean with low nitrate reading is a must at all time.
Upon arrival of the snails, please let the bag(s) warm up in room temperature for an hour, this is to adjust the temperature of the water inside the bag slowly. Then you can start to drip acclimating them slowly.
On the other hand, the large colony to start with is to ensure there is a good mixture of sexes within the colony.
We do not recommend keeping any snail eating fish or loaches with these snails/.
Usual maintenance: Feed the snails at least three times a week, with a wide range of foods. At Shrimp Corner, we feed our snails with blanched vegetables like spinach or fruit like cucumber also fish flakes. We also feed our snails with our with our Vegetable shrimp bars, which is plant base protein containing seaweed, providing lean and optimal nutrients.
